Congratulations to our star Mary Katrantzou, here at GQ, we have been supporting Mary’s work since day one!
For those that don’t know about the Vogue’s Designer Fashion Fund… Let me inform you..
The Fund
The BFC / Vogue Designer Fashion Fund (The Fund) was launched by BFC Chairman Harold Tillman in September 2008 as part of the BFC’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The Fund is supported by Burberry, Debenhams, Harrods, Paul Smith, Topshop and Vogue.
The Fund provides one British based designer with £200,000 and access to high level mentoring support – additional awards of mentoring and business support may be awarded to others shortlisted.
The aim of The Fund is to assist talented British designers with the potential for commercial growth to make the transition to a global fashion brand.
Since its inception, winners of The Fund include Erdem (2010), Christopher Kane (2011), Jonathan Saunders (2012), Nicholas Kirkwood (2013) & Peter Pilotto (2014).
Mary Katrantzou is incredibly deserving of this year’s award. It was an extremely diverse shortlist but ultimately we all agreed that Mary has not only created a strong and hugely appealing identity for her work but that she has put in place measures that, along with the support of this prize, should ensure an exciting and successful next stage of her career” – Alexandra Shulman, Editor of British Vogue and Chair of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund.
So who has been supporting Mary along the way? (Apart from us of course)
And most importantly, who looks the best?!
Diane Kruger
‘Tay Tay’ Swift
Rose Byrne
Lily James
Alison Williams
Either Way, we want you to look as fabulous as the women in the photos above, so here at GQ, we’ve put Mary Katrantzou clothing in the sale to make them just that bit more affordable! Quality doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag (well, not always!)
